Anyone have some extra sperm?

Yup! She's right...totalled. We need the "real stuff" to do this. Fresh sperm, aka "man-goo" has so many advatages - it lives longer, swims better and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It's too much money and too much stress to play this guessing game any longer. From now on, Dr. monitored cycles or we need to ask someone for the swimmers! That's a hard decision..but it sure would make things easier. We suck at this. We question everything and keep making bad decisions. Boo!

You haven't made any bad decisions. It DOES take time to get the hang of this!

On the cycle Charlie was conceived, she NEVER got a positive OPK and the monitor peaked THREE DAYS AFTER our last insem. And yet, wriggling screaming boy emerged 43 weeks later.

We're not using an RE. The nurse practitioner at my regular gynecologist's office is doing our inseminations. They can do ultrasounds and trigger shots there. You don't have to go to a RE for artificial insemination. A lot easier to get an appointment with a regular gyno. The flip side, is, however, that they usually won't do any inseminations on the weekends, so if you ovulate over a weekend, you could be SOL. But the good thing about the trigger shot and u/s scenario is that, if your follicle is large enough, you can sometimes trigger an early ovulation to get the IUI done on a Friday-- last minute.

Sucks that there's no sperm bank close by. We're in Indianapolis, and I was really surprised to find a place. They're pretty bare bones, though-- no ID Consent donors and their catalog is not that big. A lot cheaper for us, though, than the Fairfax Cryobank in Virginia, who we were using before.

We are back to frozen sperm after trying a KD- which turned out to be emotionaly harder than the frozen stuff. I have a wonderful midwife and the partice she works out of always has a midwife oncall so I can be insemintaed any day of the week. This takes a lot of pressure off. We are also in Western MA, let me know if you want more info on the midwifery practice we are using. My email is 2momsrbetterthan1@myway.com
